By February I can feel the itch, the desire to get started on the garden.
But, sadly, it is far too early and I have to wait
except - for the hydroponics system.
At the end of December, I set up my hydroponics system and started some lettuce (which I have been adding to salads) as well as some dwarf tomato plants.
We now have blossoms!
The goal is to transplant these babies into the GreenStalk vertical towers once the threat of frost is past and to be eating tomatoes long before the “regularly planted” tomatoes are ready.
Last year, this was a successful process but I didn’t start the seeds til about this time. This year, I’m almost two months ahead of that schedule.
The experiment continues - one year at a time. - Debbie
